Traditional Meets Modern
Our clients had your typical 80’s oak kitchen and decor. Worn out cabinets, 30″ stove, vinyl floors, blue laminated counter top and the famous 80’s round open shelves. Good storage was lacking, and the old drawers and doors were not working well. The dated look of the kitchen did not reflect the family’s current taste. For a woman who likes to cook and entertain, her kitchen just did not work for her.
The first meeting was all about the look and the appliances that she had been longing for. Beautiful stainless appliances that boast a stunning Fisher-Paykel built-in fridge helped bridge the gap between her traditional and modern/commercial appetite. The Omega cabinets chosen were a very classic and transitional door style, (Renner) in Pure White paint and Truffle Cherry. Her floor is a very beautiful slate-like tile floor that not only warms up the space but brings all the materials together. She topped it all off with a very modern, glass tile backsplash. Walking into the finished room to take pictures almost took my breath.
We placed her wine and beverage fridge in the breakfast table area, along with two tall cabinets for extra storage and other tableware. The area gives her the bar/hutch look that she was after.
What a fun project and gorgeous outcome! She and her family will enjoy their new kitchen for many years to come.
Bon Appetit!
