The Homeowners:

Young professionals with big dreams for renovating their first home. Originally built in the 1940s, this home needed updating to accommodate a modern lifestyle. Separate living, dining and cooking areas divided the space and did not accommodate entertaining. The original kitchen was dated and dysfunctional, with a cramped layout for appliances and limited prepping space. Our clients envisioned a open space with clean lines and a neutral color palette.

The Remodel:

Working with a General Contractor to open up the floorplan was of paramount importance to our clients. The wall between the kitchen and living room was removed, and a peninsula with bar height seating added, eliminating the need for a kitchen table in the front bay window. This created space in the center of the kitchen for a prep island  to maximize storage and functionality.

 

 

Staying Neutral:

A gray and white color palette was chosen for this transitional look. Our clients selected a simple Shaker door style from Homecrest Cabinetry painted with classic neutrals. They chose Alpine, a crisp white, for the perimeter of the kitchen and Willow, a soft gray to create some contrast on the island. Countertops are Calacatta Roma, a beautiful veined marble-look quartz that compliments the cabinet colors perfectly. Simple satin nickel door and drawer pulls echo the stainless appliances. White subway tile with matching grout serves as a harmonizing backsplash to complete this classic look. 

 

Favorite Features: 

A built in microwave drawer in this island is convenient and keeps counters clear. Deep drawers make everything accessible and are easy to keep organized.

We thank these homeowners for choosing Wood Palace Kitchens to design their dream kitchen.
