Self-Cleaning Ovens – New Technology

Whirlpool Steam Clean OvenBack in December we gave some tips for cleaning your oven,  and we eluded to new technology that is being used in Europe.  Well,  it’s here!

Whirlpool has it’s newest model out,  with the SteamClean option.

Whirlpool® 5.3 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Range with 12″/9″ Dual Radiant Element

This 5.3 cu. ft. capacity electric range lets you enjoy two elements in one with the space-saving 12″/9″ Dual radiant element.  The inner ring is perfect for simmering while the larger outer ring is great for stock pots and larger pans.  Also, keep food from cooling while the rest of the meal is prepared with the 6″ Warm Zone element.  The SteamClean option lets you clean up everyday light spills,  without using harsh chemicals or cleaners.  The AccuBake® temperature management system delivers uniform baking results every time1.   A built-in sensor monitors oven temperature and controls the cooking elements.

I notice it does emphasize that the steam cleaning option is for “light spills”.  So it seems that you’re better off taking care of spills right away.  The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get it off.

If you’re looking for a new oven and you’d like to investigate this option,  go to Kahian’s Appliance One in Hanover, MA and ask for Paul Kislauskas.

Tell him that Wood Palace Kitchens sent you.
