Raynham Farmhouse Renovation

This month’s story is one of my favorite home cabinet renovations. It was for two good friends who completely renovated their old colonial farmhouse home. We designed and installed for the kitchen, pantry, bar and master bath. The theme was to stay with the old farmhouse feel but bring in today’s modern conveniences. After going through the process at the Boston Design Center with various businesses and designers, they came to me to help them out. Their frustration with the other places was the lack of anyone listening to them, even though it was a home that they have lived…

Flip or Flop

I am sure you probably have seen HGTV’s show, Flip or Flop? I watch it a lot. It’s about a couple that flips homes for a living. I have been flipping homes here and there since 2007 as a hobby. I love taking ugly homes that need a lot of work and changing them into a show home. This month’s feature is one that I completed last year in Raynham. When I first looked at this foreclosed home, I was glad that I had taken the time that day to go see the home. It was a wreck and had…

Bringing Yesterday into Today

I ran across this wonderful couple that lived in a condo here in East Bridgewater. Their original goal was to fix the finish problem that they were experiencing on their existing kitchen. The finish was wearing away on a lot of the doors that were used most often. I presented the problem to our detail finish man and his thought was that there was too much to re-finish. So we moved on to option B with having a painter come in and paint the cabinets. It costs a lot less than replacing the cabinetry, but my concern is always, will…

Facade Makeover

What does a person do when the Foil cabinets that they have in their kitchen yellow and the cabinets themselves are in good shape? In this case with Tim’s cousin, Leslie, we just replaced the door and drawer fronts and added quartz counter tops. As you will see in the before and after photos, the transformation is nothing short of spectacular. This is not one of the things that we normally do, but in certain situations, we are able to accomplish it for a client that is in need. Sometimes when someone is looking to sell their home, and the…

Timeless Transitional

Sometimes when a client buys an existing home, the layout of the home does not fit their taste or idea of an ideal space. Sometimes it’s an easy transition but sometimes, wall have to come down. This project fits the latter. When my clients bought this home, one of our contractors was called in to resurrect the space. One main wall leading into the family room (which is the outside of the home), plus another dining room wall needed to come down so that it was wide open for their guests when they hosted the football games. Today’s younger couples…
