Cabinet Fever

cabinets - Americana-CollectionI am writing this right after the storm Nemo dumped large amounts of snow on the New England states. Nemo was thirty five years (almost to the day) after the Blizzard of 1978!

Oh how I remember that! I was a new kitchen and bath designer and I remember it took me well over three hours to get home. (The drive was normally thirty minutes.)

The governor of Massachusetts called a state of emergency that lasted a week. That meant we all stayed home and bonded.

Because we couldn’t drive, a lot of neighbors, family and friends gathered and cooked.

A funny thing happened while we ate and cooked and cooked some more. All this time at home, specifically in the kitchen, really pointed out just how much we hated our kitchen. Whether it was the layout, the drawers that wouldn’t close or the door with the broken hinge, we just couldn’t ignore it anymore. Talk about cabin fever, umm, I mean cabinet fever.

The amount of calls from people wanting to redo their kitchens was incredible. We could hardly keep up. People realized that they had put this off long enough. People now had the incentive to move forward on their projects.

Don’t let your kitchen get to the point where it is sheer aggravation to prepare a meal. A professional kitchen designer will listen to your dreams and incorporate them into your space.

Just remember, Dream First!
